Carlos Santos
Carlos Santos is a family shoemaker from São João da Madeira, the heart of Portugal's shoe industry. They're known for two things: beautifully hand-finished patina leathers, and their Handgrade line, where more of the work is done by hand than on almost anything else at the price.
Expect Goodyear-welted Oxfords, Derbies, loafers and boots with an elegant, slightly continental shape. They're a strong alternative to English makers if you want something a little more refined in the toe.
